Volunteers are the heart of Faith in Action. By sharing an hour or two per month, you assure that your senior neighbor will maintain his or her independence and self esteem. Personally, I have never felt more satisfaction than during the time I give to our seniors.
Oftentimes the request is for no more than a ride to go shopping or picking up a needed prescription. Twice a year, in the Spring and Fall, we come together for Good Samaritan Saturday. Anyone else in the family is welcome to join in. We enjoy a hearty breakfast and head out in teams to help seniors with their yard work and windows. By noon we're finished and ready to enjoy the rest of the day knowing we have made a big difference in someone's life.
